JAMIE MCINTYRE Marketing Analyst and Exercise Physiologist
JAMIE MCINTYRE - MARKETING ANALYST and EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST
I grew up always playing sports, ranging from Gymnastics to Figure Skating to Softball. I excelled in softball and accepted a scholarship to play at Dickinson State University in North Dakota and followed the lead of a few friends into Exercise Science. What a fantastic decision that was, I absolutely loved the Exercise Science program and ultimately interned with the athletic department training our athletes.
After graduation I accepted a position as a Personal Trainer at World Health and because of the World Health experience, I decided to get my Masters in Sports Management from San Diego State University and at the same time landed a once-in-a-lifetime marketing internship with Todd Durkin and Fitness Quest 10. It seems as fitness has always been my calling, but it wasnít until this internship where I realized this is what I am supposed to be doing. Once I completed my Masters, Ascension Fitness has become my new home.
My belief is that everyone is an athlete, with the proper coaching and a strong foundation anyone can find their ďathlete-inside.Ē I love my time as a personal trainer and as a marketing professional and use the opportunities to help others find their ďathlete inside.Ē My favorite part about being in the fitness industry is helping clients do and achieve accomplishments they never thought they could do.
Let me take you back to about 10 years ago at the age of 18 when I was at my heaviest and was battling self image issues. I donít recall precisely what ignited my determination to get fit, but at that point it became a priority and I decided to take control and started exercising. Over the process of consistently exercising and watching my nutrition, I lost 40 pounds and 5 dress sizes! It was amazing to me how good I felt, and how my self confidence improved.
After losing the weight, I decided that I would never go back to that place of feeling so low, and I realized my lifestyle needed to change for good. That decision drove me to become an aerobics fitness instructor and through teaching I truly fell in love with every aspect of instructing group classes. Looking to expand my horizons and the next big challenge, I graduated from advanced TRX training and became a TRX instructor in 2011.
TRX provides such an amazing workout and I love the excitement clients get when they start training on the TRX and the energy and satisfaction they experience when they accomplish that big new TRX move. My passion is to help others feel good about themselves, help them stay true to their fitness journey and most importantly have fun working out!

My love for fitness started at an early age. Growing up with asthma, I was driven to fight through those challenges. Exercise and fitness was my avenue to diminishing my reliance on asthma medications and treatments.
As a Mother of two, I know first-hand how hard pregnancy can be a woman's body and the anguish that can develop from it. This is what drove me to research and develop a first of kind program specifically to meet the needs of post-partum women. After the birth of my two boys, I struggled with getting my body back and with specific post-birth physical issues after a difficult delivery and pregnancy. I had things happening that I wasnít even aware could happen. I looked to find something, a book, a DVD, or a website that had a workout that met my needs. I could not find one. Thatís when my post partum program was born! I developed this unique post-partum group training for Moms from 6 weeks to 3 years of having a baby. This program is a work of love because of my own struggles after pregnancy.
Fueled by my passion to help people succeed and as a graduate in Exercise Physiology with a focus on Kinesiology, I am applying my love for fitness with these sciences to develop leading-edge one-on-one and group training programs to meet the specific needs of our clients, designed to push each other physically and support emotionally the needs of clients.
